The business FUN-damentals class is designed to teach students the basics of the business world.

 

Well-designed activities and lessons provide the background knowledge you require to become a Junior Tycoon.  Students will be introduced to basic concepts such as the stock market, sales graphs and charts, company sales forecasts, an introduction to labor unions, business contracts and balancing the books with profits versus losses.

 

Each lesson will then proceed to a student centered activity where students learn to master the target vocabulary and new concepts by participating in a hands on activity.

 

Student Centered Activities include:

 

• Buying and trading stocks in the “Junior Tycoon Virtual Stock Market”.

• Settling a contract dispute with labor unions.

• Communicating chart based information in the “Junior Tycoon Business Boardroom”.

• Balancing the profits/losses of a virtual market.

 

Students will have fun learning the behind the scenes aspects of the business world in a way that engages their minds and teaches them the foundation of business.
