Teacher Demo Video

 

The negotiation program is designed to introduce the skill of negotiation to students in a fun and competitive way.

 

Students are introduced to different scenarios of conflict and take on the role of one of the parties in a negotiation situation.

 

Key points are:

 

  • Students make demands and justify these demands using logical statements.

  • Students communicate with one another different sets of goals and learn to compromise.

  • Students react to proposals and counter proposals using logical arguments.

  • Students learn how to understand different perspectives, as well practice influencing one another through verbal communication.

  • Students attempt to complete complex communication tasks under time pressure.

  • Students learn team work and shared communication responsibilities. 

 

 

 

 

 

Unit Examples

The units created for this program use scenarios and characters that are fun for young adults. Although the scenarios are fun, the topics are important.

  •  King Greed's court vs. Peasants (human rights and responsible government)

  •  Mr. Seagulls Exotic Animal Company vs. Fun World Zoo (animal rights)

  •  Alien Voltrons vs Earth People (natural resource preservation)
